AUA has waiver programs for entrance examination fees, admissions fees, and tuition. Details are provided below.
Note that miscellaneous fees outside of tuition are not eligible for waiver.
Undergraduate
Entrance examination fee waivers
Prospective undergraduate students may apply to have their entrance examination fees fully waived in any of the following cases:
- Children of protected families under the Public Assistance Act
- Students for whom paying the fee would constitute a financial hardship due to the person responsible for tuition payment suffering wind, water, or other disaster damage※1 in the calendar year preceding the exam
- Students for whom paying the fee would constitute a financial hardship due to the death, prolonged illness※2, or loss of work※3 or personal bankruptcy (due to company bankruptcy, termination, etc.) of the person responsible for tuition payment in the calendar year preceding the exam
※1 Those receiving an official "destroyed", "widespread damage", or "significant damage" designation under local government home damage assessment policies
※2 Requiring hospitalization
※3 Job loss due to company bankruptcy or involuntary termination. Does not apply to voluntary or retirement-age termination.
Tuition waivers
Aichi Public University Corporation Tuition Waiver Program (independent program)
Eligible foreign students: Full-time, self-supporting international students
Typically a 50% tuition waiver each semester, on the assumption that students will graduate or complete their studies in the minimum amount of time and meet academic performance criteria
※ If the number of applicants exceeds available waiver funds, per-student amounts may be reduced and split among eligible students
Graduate school
Entrance examination fee waivers
Prospective graduate students may apply to receive a full or 50% refund of their entrance examination fees in any of the following cases:
- Children of protected families under the Public Assistance Act
- Students for whom paying the fee would constitute a financial hardship due to the person responsible for tuition payment suffering wind, water, or other disaster damage※1 in the calendar year preceding the exam
