Degree: Doctor of Music
The Graduate School of Music is fully equipped with spaces for doctoral-level training in both performance and academic writing, creating the perfect environment for students to further their studies and research. Doctoral students develop their expertise in a program designed to turn out talented professionals capable of serving as instructors or researchers in universities or other higher education settings, as leaders at cultural institutions, as professional performers, or in other modern art or music careers involving a wide variety of activities.
Most doctoral students spend their first and second years conducting doctoral recitals (or doctoral lectures), culminating in a graduation recital or publication of a doctoral thesis to complete their degree.
